ANKER, TABORN, CLEAVER

Lotte Anker: saxophones

Craig Taborn: piano
Gerald Cleaver: drums

ANKER/TABORN/CLEAVER had its premiere in may 2003, where the band did a small -but succesfull- tour in France, Germany and Denmark. Since then ACT has been performing at festivals and clubs/concertspaces in Scandinavia, Europe, USA and Canada as well as released the critically acclaimed CD ”Triptych” (LeoRecords).

ANKER/TABORN/CLEAVER is focused on the sonic aspects of music as well as certain rhytmic structures though still build on a concept of free improvisation mixed with compositions/structures for impro by Lotte Anker.
The same music goes all the way into exploring the wild, poetic, weird, unexpected
and hypnotic sides of musical communication.

player Marilyn Crispell has been going on since 98 in various constellations; fx

Marc Ducret: guitar
Peter Friis Nielsen: electric bass
Stefan Pasborg: drums

Danish/French Quartet ICTUS has existed since 2002 and with great succes performed in clubs + festivals in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and France during that period.

In 2004 the critically acclaimed CD ”ICTUS LIVE” was released.

The musical world of the quartet is free improvisation of that really intense- but also very open- kind, where the music can go in any direction.
Freeform with a sound that sometimes borders (experimental) rock but also with attentive listening, sensitivity and a strong intention to always let the music open up and leading to new places.

Peter Ole Jørgens: drums, percussion

The Mokuto Trio is based on the longterm acquaintance and collaboration between the three danes.

City of Glass

City of Glass is a two hour concert with new music written to texts by american writer Paul Auster. The music is written for Copenhagen Art Ensemble with additional cello, vocal and electronics.
City of Glass has it´s name after the first novel in Auster´s New York Trilogy, from which some of the texts are adapted but other parts of the music are based on P. Auster´s early poetry (Selected Poems 1971-1979).
City of Glass presents a very varied and complex universe; the beauty of the poems set up aganist the more fragmented and surrealistic atmosphere which is expressed in the prosetexts.
City of Glass (and excerpts from it) has so far been performed in Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania and Italy.
